Acrylic Map Painting
Celebrate the place you call home while exploring the creative possibilities of textured acrylic painting. In this beginner-friendly workshop, guests will learn how to build dimension, movement, and visual interest using a variety of texture techniques and materials.
Through guided instruction, participants will experiment with layering paint, creating raised surfaces, incorporating patterns, and adding decorative details that bring their artwork to life.
This workshop combines the satisfaction of learning new artistic techniques with the opportunity to create a meaningful keepsake worthy of display. No prior painting experience is necessary, and participants are encouraged to embrace creativity, experimentation, and self-expression throughout the process.

Art Workshops & Creative Experiences
Lindsay Sheldon is the artist behind The Paper Darlings and a teacher with more than fifteen years of experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities. She believes that art, at its heart, should be a joyful outlet for creativity and self-expression, not something you have to be “good at” to enjoy. Her workshops are designed to meet each participant where they are, whether they’re an experienced maker or picking up a paintbrush for the first time.
Lindsay has led classes and workshops for everyone from young children to adults, and holds a Master’s degree in Special Education. She brings this background into every workshop, thoughtfully differentiating instruction and providing the guidance, tools, and encouragement each participant needs to feel successful. With individualized attention woven into every class, Lindsay creates welcoming, memorable experiences where everyone can explore their creativity, learn something new, and, most importantly, have fun making.
Beyond traditional workshops, Lindsay collaborates with brands, retailers, and organizations to bring creativity into shared spaces through corporate workshops, in-store activations, and private events. Each experience is thoughtfully designed around the audience and occasion, from hands-on art-making to seasonal and brand-inspired projects. Her creative partnerships have included On, Kendra Scott, Anthropologie, Tuckernuck, Veronica Beard, and The Scout Guide Washington DC, among others.
Whether she’s leading a small group, bringing a creative experience to a retail space, or designing a workshop for a corporate team, Lindsay’s goal is the same: to make art approachable, engaging, and genuinely fun for everyone.
